Eta Chi Omega Switched From PINK to RED

On Friday, February 4, 2022, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc Ⓡ - Eta Chi Omega Chapter switched from PINK to RED in support of women's health and heart disease awareness. In addition, the chapter hosted their annual Pink Goes Red for Heart Disease Event; This year the event was hybrid due to COVID-19 safety protocols.
Samantha Williams, a Nurse Practitioner at The Cardiovascular Institute of the South, provided education about heart disease during a Facebook Live Q & A.
Also, Living Fit Fitness Instructor, Michelle Livings, and her staff got the participants' hearts pumping with a fun line dance exercise class while promoting heart-healthy physical activity.
This Facebook Live event reached 1,103 people. 790 people viewed and/or participated in this event. Several participants engaged in sharing words of affirmations during the workout in the live messages/comment box. Additionally, many participants took part in asking questions during the Facebook Live Q&A session regarding heart health.
Overall, this event was a success. Eta Chi Omega remains dedicated to promoting healthy hearts within the community through fitness activities and walking.
